QR Code for Identity Verification
Access the instruction page for "the initial payment & Identity verification" from MyPage or Email after submitting the online application form. You need to scan the QR Code within the page at a ATM to start the identity verification process.
Residence Card
Prepare your residence card for identity verification at the ATM.
JP SMART Phone Number
Please enter the phone number provided within the instruction page to complete the identity verification process. You can access the page from MyPage
Step-by-Step Guide

Start on the ATM screen, then tap “Other Services”.

Select “If you have a QR Code” menu.

Show the QR code on your screen to the ATM scanner. Please brighten the screen.

Read the terms/agreements then click the “Agree” button.

Please select “Residence Card” as the identity document you want to verify.

Position your card like the example above, then click the “Shoot” button.

On the next step, we’ll take a photo of your face. Make sure your face is clearly visible and follow the instructions shown on the ATM screen, then click the “Confirm” button.

In this step, please keep your residence card placed and look at the ATM camera located above the screen.

Turn your residence card to the back side, place it on the left as illustrated above,
then click the “Confirm” button.

Once you’ve placed your Residence Card as shown, please click the “Shoot” button.

Take your Residence Card from the ATM. Next, you’ll be asked to enter a phone number.

On this screen, please enter the designated JP SMART SIM phone number emailed after application.

Confirm the phone number and make sure it’s correct, then click the “Confirm” button.

The process is complete. Please keep the receipt until reviewing your application is finished.

How long does the identity verification take?
Usually just a few minutes at the ATM and we will send your eSIM activation code by email or ship your SIM card on the same day in the shortest once we confirm your initial payment and your identity verification with your application by 2pm JST.
Do I need to upload my residence card online?
You don't have to upload the photo of your residence card during the online application. Please go to a SevenBank ATM to complete your identity verification with your residence card after submitting your application.
What if identity verification fails?
If you can't complete verification at Seven ATM, please contact us . We will assist you as soon as possible during business hours.
Can I use any ATM?
You can complete your identity verification at SevenBank ATM only. You can find the nearest one by typing "Seven Bank ATM" on Google Map.
Where can I find a 7 Bank ATM?
You can find the nearest one by typing "Seven Bank ATM" on Google Map. And almost all of the Seven-Eleven convenience store have the ATM, so if you choose Mypayment (Convenience store payment), you can complete initial payment and verification at the same place.
How to Complete Identity Verification with Sagawa
Prepare Your ID
Display the same ID document you uploaded during your application process to the Sagawa courier staff upon delivery.
Receive It in Person
Your SIM card or eSIM activation code must be received by you directly. Delivery cannot be accepted by family members, friends, or anyone else on your behalf.
If You Miss the Delivery
If you are not available during delivery,
please check the delivery notice slip left in your mailbox and follow the instructions to request a redelivery.

When will my SIM package arrive and identity verification be conducted?

Your SIM package will be shipped via Sagawa Express after your initial payment and your application review are completed.

Regular Period

  • Completed by 2:00 PM : Shipped on the same day
  • Completed after 2:00 PM : Processed on the next business day

Year-End & New Year Schedule

1. New SIM

  • Completed by 12:00 PM on 12/28 → Shipped on the same day
  • Completed between 12/28 after 12:00 PM and 1/5 → Earliest shipped from 1/5
  • Completed from 1/6 onward → Regular schedule applies

2. MNP SIM

  • Completed by 2:00 PM on 12/25 → Shipped on the same day
  • Completed after 2:00 PM on 12/25 through 1/5 → Earliest shipped from 1/5
  • Completed from 1/6 onward → Regular schedule applies

Important Notes

  • Same-day shipping is available only after both payment confirmation and application review are completed.
  • Delivery dates may vary depending on shipping conditions and availability.
  • If your selected delivery date is unavailable, the package will be shipped on the earliest possible date.
  • For remote islands or areas where Sagawa Express cannot deliver, an alternative shipping method may be used.

How to Pick Up Your SIM at Airport
Prepare Your Passport
Upload your passport during the application process. When picking up your SIM card, please show the same passport to the Sagawa staff for identity verification.
Pick Up Your SIM Yourself
Your SIM card can only be picked up by you. Please bring your passport and the confirmation email you received when collecting your SIM card.
Bring Your Confirmation Email
Please show the confirmation email you received together with your passport during SIM card pickup. SIM cards cannot be received by family members, friends, or anyone else on your behalf.
